“The LORD will strike Egypt with a plague. They will turn to the LORD, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.”
Isaiah 19:22
This is a prophecy against Egypt, who had consistently mistreated God’s people. But look at the purpose: God was going to bring harm to them so they would turn and he would heal them. I think God still does some of that today. Sometimes we get so stubborn and rebellious that God has to knock us off our feet to get our attention. Even if we’re not rebelling, sometimes a little pain or discomfort will make us rely on God more. If you’re going through a tough time, look for God and see if he is trying to teach you something. It’s often in our hardest times that we grow the most.
